Septiembre del 2019

Amada Familia,

Paz a Vosotros,

Dr. Ruth Mercado

Dear Family,

My heart overflows with joy in knowing that we have already done an act of faith in laying the first stone in Tela, Honduras for the school for children and adolescents.

Thank you to all who contributed a seed to take the first offering of $ 9,000.00. Now we need to work in unity to continue the new vision without forgetting the clinic, the children we feed through “Pounds of Love”, the Home for orphaned children in Bolivia and the year that we still need to sponsor the 12 disciples in Venezuela in order for them to graduate from the Theological University of Texas. As I write I remember the song that my granddaughter Jylene sings: “God of wonders, God of power and authority, I believe in You, I believe in Your faithfulness”. I must confess to you that when our heart is involved in God’s purpose, there is a conformity and supernatural joy where the words of the Apostle Paul are fulfilled in Ephesians 1:23, “…the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”

With my travel miles I wanted to take two of our grandchildren and our daughter Liza to impart in them the future vision of the first stone where I placed my mom’s book, The Calling Has No End, my beloved’s book, The Journey, The Daily Bread and one of my Bibles, and we sealed them with cement. It was very exciting to see how Tela’s church dedicated itself to celebrating this sacred prophetic act. It was also an act of faith.

On our trip, something that also touched my heart was the clinic that our beloved brother Dr. Fernando is in charge of. It was impressive to visit the ruins of the old Tela Hospital in its restoration phases. We took suitcases filled with first aid items that will be a blessing. Upon returning from that visit, I spent a long time crying after seeing the extreme poverty there is compared to so much abundance and health benefits we have in the U.S.

We also had a great conference with more than 500 women where we were all ministered with the powerful Word of God and then we ended with a concert with our daughter Liza. It was something beautiful. On Sunday we minister to the church and my grandchildren to more than 100 children. On these trips, even if they are short, you have to take advantage of every minute. We visited the children’s therapy clinic and I can say that Elisa is doing wonderful work.

Thank you to all who have seen God’s calling on Enlightening the Family Ministry and have trusted to sow with me to continue the work. As I walked through the ruins of that old hospital I saw what God can do through us. I believe the school will educate children and young people to take back the city and some will be doctors, nurses, etc., etc. in this hospital.

I don’t understand why God has put this feeling for Tela, Honduras in me. My roots are from Puerto Rico, born in the USA, but God is the one who works in us to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Now that I am older and retired I feel a greater demand towards this great vision. Wow, our God is amazing! We owe everything to God.

I will continue posting pictures so that your eyes see the great work. We are going to prevent our Honduran children from continuing to cross borders without a safe future. Together we can give them a secure future just as Jeremiah 29:11 says. It is a new chapter for Enlightening the Family Ministry; just $ 1 per day that equals $ 30 per month helps us to continue the work. The land in which we are sowing is the land of education and it will germinate a fruit in the education of your generations.

God has also given me a theme for next year: Vision with Clarity 20/20. We will be celebrating a service for the family and then a breakfast the next day to minister a word on this subject. The dates are December 6th and 7th in Chicago and January 11th in Texas. I will send you more details later.

I ask for your prayers and your donations so that together we can continue with the vision that God has given us. Make Enlightening the Family one of your charities this year.

Peace be with you,

Dr. Ruth Mercado
